West Texas Comic Con 2023

Our trip to West Texas Comic Con on June 18th, 2023, was an experience to remember! From meeting iconic figures to enduring the desert heat, the event was filled with highlights that we can't wait to share. Here's quick a recap of our time at the con, including some heartwarming interactions and unforgettable encounters.

Despite the challenges, such as the intense West Texas heat and the Convention halls AC going out, vending at the con was a fantastic experience. We found ourselves in cosplay without air conditioning in the middle of the desert, but the camaraderie among attendees made it bearable. The convention hosts did an excellent job mitigating the heat and ensuring everyone had a great time. Their efforts didn't go unnoticed, and we appreciated their dedication to making the event enjoyable.

One standout feature was the metal badges for vendors and VIPs. It added a special touch to the event and made us feel valued and appreciated.

Special Encounters:

Butterbean: One of the highlights was meeting Butterbean. Although my dad, a huge fan, couldn't attend due to a leg injury, Butterbean graciously signed a hat for him. It was a touching moment that made our day even more special.

Doug Bradley (Pinhead from Hellraiser): We had an amazing experience with Doug Bradley, the actor who played Pinhead in Hellraiser. He loved our Pinhead toothpick holder so much that he signed one in exchange for one of his own. It was incredible to see our work appreciated by someone from the franchise.

Brian A. Prince (The Fugitive Predator): Meeting Brian A. Prince, who played the Fugitive Predator, was awe-inspiring. He was just as tall and imposing in person as he appeared on screen! He signed one of our Predator trophies in exchange for a chest buster, adding a unique story to our collection.

West Texas Comic Con 2023 was a blend of excitement, challenges, and unforgettable moments. From meeting legendary figures to braving the desert heat, every aspect of the con was memorable. We can't wait for the next event and hope to see you there.
